Introducing AutoCycle
New company, a partnership between Trade Street and Cycle Systems,
specializes in complete recycling of automobiles
DANVILLE, Va. (June 11, 2009) – A local auto parts leader has teamed up with the region's top recycler to form AutoCycle, a company specializing in the complete recycling of automobiles.
Formerly Trade Street, Auto Cycle pays customers for unwanted vehicles and then offers parts from those autos for sale to the public. In partnership with Cycle Systems, the company then recycles what's left of the automobiles to produce scrap metal.
The company's Danville location at 1692 Halifax Road includes The Parts Park, where do-it-yourself customers can pull parts from cars in the lot to reuse. Vehicle drop-offs also are available at Cycle Systems locations in Martinsville and South Boston.
“This unique partnership offers a convenient option for those who want to keep their cars on the road for less,” said Greg Weaver, president of AutoCycle. “It's also a great way to dispose of a car because we pay customers for those cars and Cycle Systems will make sure they are recycled in the most ecologically friendly manner.”
Richard Lerner, vice president of Cycle Systems, said AutoCycle will provide an additional source of automobiles that get shredded to produce scrap metal.
“Cycle Systems has long been on the forefront of reducing waste,” Lerner said. “With AutoCycle, we're providing a new way for consumers to benefit from recycling.”
Every vehicle arriving at AutoCycle is decontaminated of all pollutants and fluids such as Freon, gas, oils and batteries. Cars are then inventoried and placed into The Parts Park for customers to browse or parts are dismantled and warehoused for purchase at a full-service sales counter.
“AutoCycle makes buying used parts an enjoyable experience, whether it's our friendly sales staff helping you find exactly what you need or by saving money and removing your own parts at our Parts Park,” Weaver said. “With AutoCycle, you will still enjoy the same, one-of-a-kind Trade Street service but now we'll have a larger source of parts to choose from at our modern auto recycling facility in Danville.”
In addition to drop-off locations in Martinsville and South Boston, AutoCycle will continue to pick up vehicles.
